It looks like it belongs on the album cover for some epic 80s band, like Dio or Boston or Asia or something.

I wouldn't say "stiff dragon pose" as if it were a bad thing... Dragons are supposed to be such huge creatures, it's hard to imagine one (a European dragon, anyway) that isn't a little awkward-looking on the ground.
Anyways, since you said it's loosely based on a horse, horses too look pretty awkward standing around, too. But once they get moving, they're some of the most elegant creatures around (just like this dragon would be, when in flight.)

YOU, my good sir, have earned a fav. :D

The "stiffness" is not necessarily a bad thing...in some ways it can evoke the idea of a gargoyle, which is definitely pretty fearsome. :-)

The one thing I find myself wondering about is the anatomy of your dragons. That's a LOT of musculature around the wings! I wonder if your dragons have to use some sort of magic to fly?

pretty much i just based it loosely on a horse and i could always say yes it uses magic to fly
